The flowers awaken, petals bloom

Smelling sweet, like a new perfume.

While the birds have returned, chirping away,

The sun rises to greet the new day.

The grass has a fragrant fresh smell,

And here I am, under a spell.

Could it be the children’s smiles, ready to play once more,

Or the return of the roses, which I adore?

Perhaps the tulips, with their magnificent hues,

Or maybe it’s the sky, so bold, so blue.

Could it be the butterflies, flitting about?

Or the fact that I feel the need to call out:

Spring is here, it’s a new day!

And it is beautiful in every way.
